Let's Paint!

We are currently doing an Inquiry unit called 'What Makes Australia Unique?' and have been talking a lot about the natural landmarks that we are well known for. This week we incorporated one of these landmarks in to our art lesson.

I gave the children the subject of the Great Barrier Reef. They had to include a large fish as the focus, and some coral on the reef. We looked at photographs of the tropical fish that live on the reef, and discussed their bright colours and different shapes. We also brainstormed other animals that live on the reef like sharks, turtles, octopi etc.

As I was watching the little wonders draw I was amazed by the difference in all their work, there was no two pieces the same. I love the way they draw, so cute!

They turned out so great! I loooove the bright colours :)

  1. They are gorgeous!! Do you teach art? At my school a specialist teacher takes my students for art each week.
