Classroom Inspiration

Thursday, 3 July 2014

I really enjoy link ups (as if you can't tell!). They are a great way to connect with other teachers and are often a snapshot of what's going on in you life at the time. This will be my second link up with Farley at Oh' Boy Fourth Grade' for her July Currently.

Listening - I love this show and I'm not ashamed to say it. I think Judge Marilyn Milian is hilarious! And some of the people featured on it remind me of how very lucky I am.

Loving - The cold weather. Last winter I found I lacked winter accessories, so I stocked up on scarves, boots, socks and beanies, and now I get to wear them all again!

Thinking - I've never been one to care much about what I eat, but earlier this year I tried the 5:2 diet where you fast for 2 days out of the week. I felt so much better in myself and had a lot more energy. I've decided I'm going to start it again when term 3 begins. Wish me luck!

Wanting - Currently my sister is on her honeymoon and is traveling all over Europe. I'm insanely jealous to say the least. I lived in London for four months in 2010 and will definitely be back there one day. I feel it calling me!

Needing - If you know me then you know I have a shopping addiction, sigh. This does little to help me save for a house deposit. I started to save in March of this year and am extremely proud of my self control when it comes to buying new things and online shopping. Bring on my tax return!!

4th Plans - The Fourth of July isn't a holiday in Australia, so no major plans. I am however going out for dinner with three of my favourite girls, so it should be a fun night!

Happy blogging!

  1. I tried starting to eat healthier last week, and it makes you feel so much better. I am using MyFitnessPal app on my phone. It helps me keep up with calories and everything. It is also free so that's great for a teacher's budget. :) Good luck on saving up money!

    1. I've used MyFitnessPal before and its a huge help, will definitely be using it again.

      Thanks Elizabeth :)

  2. Boy, what I wouldn't give to be able to wear a scarf and beanie right now. It was 105 here today. Yuck! Eating healthy is all about deciding to make a lifestyle change...not a diet so to speak. I made the switch a couple of years back and feel so much better when I keep on track. I do have my days, but my body certainly lets me know it is not ok to eat junk! I too use the fitness pal app and really like it. Good luck on your journey to healthy eating. Good for you on the saving and not shopping cause.

    Luv My Kinders

    1. Wow thats hot! I hope you've got air conditioning!
I agree that its a lifestyle change, I just need to have stronger will power when it comes to saying no to junk food (and not being lazy at dinner time by getting take away).

Thanks for your encouraging words Laura :)

  3. Hi Zoe,

I love The People's Court, too! :) So great to be home on school days to catch all of the TV I usually miss.

Love, Laughter and Learning in Prep!

    1. It's so good! I always feel like I take my holidays for granted, I find myself doing school work all the time, and as soon as school starts back I have holiday withdrawals!

      Enjoy your break!

  4. Good for you on getting healthy! Remember, health starts from the inside out. You have to detoxify because we live in a toxic world! I love my Plexus products for just that very reason. (see link below) Once I got my insides healthy, the weight just seems to come off :)

I'm a little jealous of you and your cooler temps as I am from Texas and it is HOT! I am curious as to which Victoria you are located in? US? Canada?

    Wishing you the very best!

    1. Hi Korren, I'm from Victoria in Australia...I wish I was in the US. I'd love to go there one day!
Thanks for the advice and the link. I'll have a look!

  5. Congrats on the saving! I've always been better at shopping than saving! I LOVE your glasses in your profile pic… they look exactly like my last pair! Love it!
